Jacksonville, Oregon celebrates the holidays and our past with Victorian Christmas. The celebration begins with a Community Caroling & Tree Lighting on Shop Small Saturday – 5:00 pm, November 30, 2019 and the Christmas Parade 10:00 am, Saturday, December 7.
Festivities continue on weekends leading up to Christmas. The celebration is a wonderful memory-making opportunity for families and friends and it has become a cherished tradition in the Rogue Valley. We decorate the town all in natural greenery with white lights to evoke Christmases past. But the activities will keep any of today’s visitors entertained.
On weekends between December 7 – 22 you can take family pictures with Father Christmas*, enjoy strolling carolers – some in vintage costumes. You will also find complimentary hot cider. Horse drawn wagon rides are also available starting at the new City Hall on 5th St 11:30am-4pm.
*There is no charge for taking pictures with Father Christmas. You are welcome to take your own photos as there is no professional photographer. You will find Father Christmas at a new location – 155 North 3rd Street, in the Dan McGeorge Photo Gallery 11am-4pm.
Holiday Shopping in Jacksonville
And where better to do your holiday shopping? Local shops times are imbued with holiday cheer and they have everything you will need to complete your holiday shopping. Additionally, the local restaurants and tasting rooms offer special holiday fare. And all of these establishments are independently owned. So you are guaranteed a personal experience.

- Be sure to make time to tour the Beekman House and check out Mrs. Beekman’s Christmas Bazaar. The holiday tours highlight how many of our favorite Christmas traditions come from the Victorian era. Tours run every 15 minutes between 11 am & 2:45 pm. Located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville, Oregon, house tour admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (6-12) and seniors (65+). Tickets are available at the door. Bazaar admission is free. Proceeds help preserve Jacksonville’s historic buildings and expand historic program offerings.
- You can also tour the Beekman Bank Museum located on California & 3rd. Stop by and learn about this first bank north of San Francisco and the oldest financial institution in the Pacific Northwest. The viewing room is open 11am-3pm on Saturday and Sundays thru December 22nd.
