Oregon Wine Competition ~ August 6-7
67 wineries from around the state will be involved in the Oregon Wine Competition. A panel of highly renowned wine judges will be evaluating more than two hundred wines on August 6th and 7th, and medals will be announced at The Oregon Wine Experience’s Medal Celebration on August 24th. Guests of the Medal Celebration will be among the first to try the medal-winning wines, which will also be featured at various events throughout the week of The Oregon Wine Experience

Miracle Auction & Salmon Bake, Saturday, August 24 Under the Big Tent at Bigham Knoll, Jacksonville
The popular event is sure to excite. Early in the evening, the Coquille Indian Tribe will be plank-cooking Salmon over an Alder wood fire, allowing guests to experience a 10,000 year old authentic tribal tradition. In addition, will be an extravagant, outdoor buffet created by notable local chefs, and to top it all off… All the wine served throughout the evening will be the Gold and Best of Show award-winning wines.
Make plans to linger for the Grand Auction, where you can compete with your neighbor for the best of the Live, Platinum, and Silent Auction items. The rest of your time will be spent enjoying live music, dancing under the stars, and sipping more of that amazing wine, of course! There’s not much better than an afternoon full of wine, tasty treats, and good company. For the final day of Oregon Wine Experience®, the Grand Tasting will give you just that. This popular event offers a rare opportunity to meet the faces of the Oregon wine industry all in one place! Winemakers and owners from 50+ wineries throughout Oregon will be offering samples of over 100 wines. So come, drink, eat, and celebrate the close of another successful Oregon Wine Experience®!
Oregon Wine University scheduled to run all month
Prepare to dazzle your peers with some newfound wine knowledge this summer. The whole month of August, Oregon Wine University will be offering classes on various aspects of wine appreciation, pairing, and serving. The classes will be hosted at local venues throughout the region, giving guests from all over the area the chance to experience rich and rewarding opportunities all month. Oregon Wine Competition® judge and internationally renowned Master of Wine, Tim Hanni, is just one of the many special guests teaching this year.
