Meet the Pioneers returns to the Silent City on the Hill on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7, 2017.  Guides lead visitors through the cemetery grounds where Players in costume share their stories and talk about the events of the day in the 1800-1900’s. Topics this year range from early Pioneer families to WWI and WWII, a Train Wreck, a Gypsy Curse, a Flu Epidemic and so much more! 

Tours will depart every 15 minutes starting at 3:30 p.m. and conclude with the last tour departing at 6:15 p.m. 

Tickets go on sale September 6 and may be purchased

  • A ticket booth will also be located next to the Jacksonville Post office on the following dates:
    • September 6-9, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
    • Friday’s and Saturdays through the month of September 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
    • October 6 and 7, also from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
  • Cost
    • Adult tickets cost $15,
    • Children 12 and under cost $5,
    • Family Ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children is $35.
    • Payment by cash or checks only.
