Gifted with a broad, soaring vocal range and crystalline tone, Peia’s song pierces the heart with bell like clarity. She sings with depth and beauty, accompanying herself with charango, harmonium, and guitar. As a song preserver Peia has gathered songs from ancient traditions that span across the globe, from the mountains of Bulgaria to the shores of Ireland, touching upon the wisdom and trials of the Native peoples of North and South America and preserving the enchantment of medieval chant and Indian Raga. She has traveled extensively to uncover melodies wrinkled and wise with time, laboring faithfully to revive their language, stories and original essence.
Shai Shriki, guitarist, oud player, singer and multi instrumentalist, captures different flavours of world music, playing some unique string instruments from the Middle East. Shai performs his original songs & music, traditional prayers from the ancient Hebrew script, Spanish & Eastern European Gypsy music, in a fusion of contemporary and traditional sounds. Born in Israel to a Moroccan family, Shai’s truly authentic sound and voice invoke the desert landscapes and cultures, traveling through time.
