Dogs for the Deaf 25th Annual Dog Walk Benefit

For more than two decades, Dogs for the Deaf has hosted a Dog Walk for fun, to raise awareness about its work, and to raise money to keep rescuing, training and placing Certified Assistance Dogs with clients around the country. This years’ Dog Walk theme is The Silver Screen in recognition of the 25th anniversay, and pooches of all sizes, shapes and colors are invited to participate with their human partners on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jacksonville Elementary School.Dog Walk 2014

Kicking off the event will be Grand Marshall John Drach, Dogs for the Deaf Training Director and Originator of Dog Walk . The 25th Annual Dog Walk will include a costume contest, a dog tricks contest, a poker walk, raffles, education booths, dog demonstrations, vendors and other activities. All ages, and all well-behaved dogs, will find something fun to do during Dog Walk.

The length of the dog walk route is about one mile and very is easy to walk. People can register for Dog Walk 2016 by visiting www.dogsforthedeaf.org/dog-walk .

Dog for the Deaf LogoSince 1977, Dogs for the Deaf has been rescuing dogs from shelters where they might otherwise be euthanized, and training them to become certified Hearing and Program Assistance Dogs for people throughout the United States.  Their work is supported entirely through donations, grants and events like Dog Walk.
