After Christmas Holiday Tours at Beekman House & Hanley Farm

Over the centuries, decorating Christmas trees and homes for the holiday season has become a tradition. Early Christmas trees were adorned with paper roses, lit candles, wafers, nuts and sweets.  Hanley Farm and Beekman House are offering tours that give insight into the holiday traditions of the past in tours the day after Christmas, Monday, December 26, with Hanley Farm continuing it tours on Tuesday.

Beekman House:  The Cornelius Beekman family were prominent residents of early Jacksonville and their home is now a house museum still furnished with the family’s belongings.  Costumed docents will share stories of how the family celebrated Christmas in Jacksonville along with information about Victorian Christmas traditions.

Tours run every 15 minutes between 11 am & 2:45 pm.  Located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville, Oregon,

Boxing Day ACCESS Food Drive:  For “Boxing Day”, December 26, tour admission is $2 with a canned good donation to ACCESS.  Should you choose to pay regular price, all admission monies collected over $2 will be donated to ACCESS.  Regular tour admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (6-12) and seniors (65+). Tickets are available at the door.

Hanley Farm:  Costumed docents will guide you through the home and share holiday tales and stories about the rich history of the Hanley family and farm. As you await your tour, relax, enjoy a warm cider on the pavilion, stroll through the Hanley gardens and take a self-guided tour of the grounds. What a perfect way to wrap up the Christmas holidays!

Hanley Farm is just outside of Jacksonville at 1053 Hanley Road, Central Point.
Tours run from 11 am – 3 pm December 26 & 27 and cost $3 for SOHS Members $5 for non-members
