A Fun and Interesting Volunteer Project Many grave markers are covered in moss, lichen, dirt and with time, have darkened and become quite difficult to read. Join us and learn the latest techniques and tools to safely clean these stones. This is a hands-on workshop so dress accordingly. Since this project began in 2013,volunteers have cleaned a total of 452 grave markers, along with curbing and urns, a very impressive number. You may want to bring a stool to sit on while working, sun screen and a hat. Meet at the Sexton’s Tool House, top of the Cemetery Road, for instructions and to pick up supplies. Farm Tours We offer three types of tours: Public Tours, Expanded Accessibility Tours and Private Tours. Our Visitor Rules and Tips (below) apply to all tours. During the warmer months, Sanctuary One conducts regularly-scheduled tours for the public. During the tour, a staff member or volunteer will guide you around the farm, explain how a care farm works, and answer your questions. The tour also includes a chance to meet the Sanctuary’s herd of rescued farm animals and house pets. For visitors needing mobility assistance, we are able to offer golf-cart tours concurrent with the 10am tours on Fridays and Saturdays. 2017 Tour Season kicks off on Saturday, April 29! New for 2017–tours are offered on Fridays at 10am and 11am, and on Saturdays at 10am and 11am. We are now taking tour reservations.
