Britt Music & Arts Festival, a non-profit organization, is the Pacific Northwest’s
premier outdoor summer performing arts festival. Located in the historic 1850s gold rush town of Jacksonville, Oregon (USA), Britt presents dozens of summer concerts, featuring world-class artists in classical music, jazz, blues, folk, bluegrass, world, pop and country music.
Britt’s performance venue is a naturally formed amphitheater set among majestic ponderosa pines and native madrones on the beautiful hillside estate of 19th century photographer Peter Britt. Viewing a map of the facility will give you a clearer picture of how we have combined stadium seating within this natural setting. Tens of thousands of music lovers travel from all over the West to enjoy Britt’s world-class performances, spectacular scenery and casual, relaxing atmosphere.
Britt started in 1963 as a summer classical festival with a temporary stage and blankets on the hillside. Over time it has grown to include a permanent pavilion, bench seats and concessions but still retains an casual atmosphere that facilitates an intimate exchange between performers and audience and still offers lawn seating! If you haven’t been to a Britt concert before check out the Newcomer’s Guide for information on parking, what you can being into the park, seating, etc. You can arrive early and bring in picnics and enjoy some people watching and at many concerts you are allowed to bring in your own wine or beer.
The Britt Orchestra Season is announced in February and the full schedule is announced in early April. Current Schedule & Ticket Information Britt is a membership organization and the different levels of membership offer different benefits – such as being able to purchase tickets before the general public and early entry – which is especially helpful for open lawn seating.
