Beekman House Tours – Victorian Art & Decor

Historic Beekman House: Victorian Art & Décor, From Comfort to Excess

On Saturday, May 20, costumed docents share insights into the evolution of style in the late 1800s through the lens of the Cornelius Beekman family – one of Jacksonville’s wealthiest and most prominent pioneer families. Docents will speak about how, by the late 1800s, the sparsely furnished parlor of pre-Civil War America was supplanted by public rooms crowded with furniture and display items.

Beekman House, 470 E. California Street, Jacksonville, OR

May 20, 12pm-4pm; one-hour tours, beginning every 15 minutes; $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students.
